If you reach ZipHearing through my links and complete an action on its site, such as submitting a form, I earn a $50 referral fee at no extra cost to you. I earn nothing from hear.com or Costco, and my links to them are plain links. I haven't worn this aid; the lab scores are HearAdvisor's, not mine. Prices and terms below were read from each company's own pages in October 2026 and can change.

What It Costs

ZipHearing lists the Zeal in one technology level, Zeal 1, and says it comes in no other. This is its listed price per pair, read on October 14, 2026.

ModelZipHearing's labelPrice per pair
Zeal 1Premium$4,598
ZipHearing lists the Zeal at $4,598 a pair. Other sellers price it differently, so get a written quote from a local clinic. Its customer rating on ZipHearing is 4.7 from 30 reviews, ZipHearing's own count.

The price includes a year of local follow-up. ZipHearing's model page says the first year of fitting, programming and follow-up care is included and appointments after that are $65 each. It also confirmed to me by email on October 7, 2026 that a hearing test can cost up to $150, credited if you buy, and custom earmolds are $50 each. The model page lists a 45-day risk-free trial and a 3-year warranty.

ZipHearing's own review of the Zeal, updated September 17, 2026, describes it as Oticon's in-the-ear model on the same platform as the Intent: rechargeable (up to about 20 hours), IP68, with a receiver for losses up to about 75 dB and an antenna that doubles as the pull string. It also lists the catches: instant-fit in-ear aids have shown higher return rates than receiver-in-canal aids, anatomy decides how it sits, and the antenna can show in some ears. That's the seller's description, so test the fit before you commit.

What the Lab Measured

HearAdvisor scored the Oticon Zeal 4.7, Grade A, with a badge reading Top 12% of prescription hearing aids. It is a 2026 release and its page is dated September 15, 2026. Only the single Zeal 1 level exists, so that is the one that was tested.

FitSpeech in QuietSpeech in NoiseOwn VoiceMusicFeedback
Initial (out of the box)4.72.72.04.13.8
Tuned (professionally adjusted)4.93.02.03.33.3
Scores out of 5. The headline score and initial-fit scores were read from HearAdvisor's product page on October 14, 2026; the tuned scores were read on October 6, 2026. The lab tests on a standard, sloping moderate hearing loss (its N3 profile), so these scores don't tell you how it handles a severe one.

Speech in quiet is the Zeal's strength (4.7 out of the box, 4.9 tuned), and the lab flags it as 1.48 points above the category average. Speech in noise is above average but not high: 2.7 rising to 3.0. Tuning cost it on music streaming (4.1 to 3.3) and feedback (3.8 to 3.3), and the lab lists feedback handling as a drawback, 1.42 points below the category. Own voice is 2.0, which is middling.

How It Compares

The Oticon Reveal 1 costs the same $4,598 and scored 5.1, with tuned speech in noise of 3.3 against the Zeal's 3.0, so the Zeal isn't the pick for noise. Phonak's EON Sphere scored 5.0 with 4.5 in noise at the same $4,598 for its top tier. You choose the Zeal for the in-the-ear shape. The Signia Silk Charge&Go IX is the other instant-fit in-ear aid on my lab page; it scored 3.7, Grade B, and lists no music streaming. For the Costco alternative, see the ZipHearing, hear.com and Costco comparison. The Costco Rexton scored 4.6 at about $1,600 a pair (Costco's listing starts at $1,599.99; confirm the exact model at the warehouse).
